Agendas for Communication

We all lead very busy lives and your child's agenda is a great way for us to keep in touch. Students write notes in their agenda almost every day. We include items such as CES events, homework reminders, test scores, and other important upcoming events. We ask students to have their parents or grandparents initial their agenda each night. This lets us know that an adult in their life has read these important notes and is aware of what is happening in our classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, there is a parent communication area highlighted for each day. Feel free to drop me a quick note and I will respond promptly. As explained below, the agenda is very helpful for studying. We will often use the agenda as it has both a world map and a Canada map. As a result, it is very important that your child remembers to bring their agenda to school every day.

School notes and permission forms are in the front pocket of the agenda. We appreciate you completing these forms as quickly as possible. This helps save time during school hours as we will not need to use value learning time to determine who has and who has not returned necessary forms. Many thanks for your prompt attention in this matter.

Agendas for Planning and Goal Setting

Take some time to look through the front portion of your child's agenda. Bell times, annual school calendar and our various policies are outlined in this section. Early in the agenda are some great pages on the importance of setting and achieving goals. We have gone over these concepts in class and will be incorporating them into our use of electronic portfolios. In addition, each month has a month-at-a-glance calendar, along with weekly calendars. The top and bottom of each of the weekly calendars have interesting quotes, facts and goal setting information!

Agendas for Studying

The back pages of the agenda have a wealth of colourful pages covering a wide range of topics such as spelling, writing, math concepts, world map and country capitals, map of Canada, etc.
