Change for CHANGE

THE STORY
On January 12th a devastating earthquake struck the country of Haiti. The small Caribbean country of 9 million people is the poorest country of the Western hemisphere. Over half of the population lives on $1 day. The people of Haiti are now relying on the help of others to provide funds for food, water, medical and heavy equipment.



HOW WE CAN HELP
Coalhurst Elementary School will be holding 2 fund raisers to help the people of Haiti.

BAKE SALE
One participating class, per week, will provide baking to be sold during their day. Notices will be sent home with the students well in advance of their scheduled day.

CHANGE FOR CHANGE
Students are asked to bring any spare change they wish to donate to help the people of Haiti. Classrooms will be provided with a jar to collect the spare change.
WHERE THE FUNDS WILL GO
Funds collected from the Bake Sale and Change for Change will be donated to the Canadian RedCross.

SUCCESS!!! CES raised $1547.45 to aid in the disaster relief efforts going on in Haiti, and Chille.
