

The first meeting of the 2010-2011 was held Monday, October 4th at 6:30 p.m. Sharla Nicol was named chairperson, Kelcey Walker assumed the position of vice-chairperson, Marla Hopp-Rapp will return as treasurer and Jen Alexander will serve as secretary. The three parent representative positions will be held by Vern Emard, Jennifer Steeves-Klimpke and Tara Grindle. Reports were given by trustee Don Zech, community representative John Coombes and town council representative Gus VanderLinden. Principal Laurie Wilson shared information about enrollment and staffing. She indicated information on provincial achievement test results will be presented in detail at the next meeting. Vice-Principal Deryk Hamilton outlined plans for participation in the FCC food drive, mini-volleyball for grades 4-6 and the second annual CES fitness challenge.
Some items of interest that were discussed:
A turkey bingo committee was formed with the date set for Friday, November 26th.
Money was allocated for field trips ($200.00 per class grades 1-6) and classroom consumables ($100.00 per teacher).
A $9000.00 grant was received for a school sign that has been ordered and should be delivered to Palliser next week to await installation.
The milk jug/recyclables fundraiser will be ongoing all year.
Other fundraising activities will be focused on raising money for school camp.

The next meeting will be held Monday, November 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the library.
